There are few better places in the world to drink real ale than the north of England. This blog will follow the travels of a dynamic* father-son duo as they leave no fell, hillside or country lane unexplored in their search for the ale houses that serve up perfect pints in pubs filled with character and northern charm.
With real ale enjoying a resurgence in many parts of the UK right now, 2012 promises to be a year packed with tasty new brews and wonderful old favourites. We'll be revisiting some of our local haunts and venturing out across Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria, and the north-east to bring you pub reviews and well-aled opinions. Who knows, we might even venture south if the urge takes us!
For now, here's to a Merry Christmas and a Hoppy New Year!
Pete & Steve
*Please note that 'dynamic' is Yorkshire slang for 'lethargic and portly'
